How do you use iodine? I thought it was something you got from leafy green vegetables and useful for thyroid function?:o

Few years back, after going to a clinic with a sore throat and ears with pain like I'd never had in my life before I was sent to chemists and it was a bottle of iodine to gargle with! I swear to god I have never ever tasted anything as bad in my life

There are different forms of Iodine. Lugols Iodine which is available just about everywhere on the internet comes in different strengths. It stains terribly!

There is Potassium Iodide which is part of Lugols iodine and can be purchased as crystals which must be mixed with distilled water to reconstitute. BTW if you water down your iodine then use only distilled water!

Potassium iodide is colourless so will not stain.

For better anti infection properties, Colloidal Silver is a far better solution IMO. It's more effective than iodine, not just bacteria but fungi, yeasts, bacteria and even viruses. You can make a decent CS generator from fairly inexpensive parts. Then you can defeat dandruff far better than any crap anti dandruff shampoo that do not work. Bacteria, viruses, yeasts, fungi and bacteria can all be destroyed. You can use it on anything and anywhere where micro organisms live and die. Use it on food, use it to keep milk fresh, veg to keep them from going mouldy. All you need for a ready supply to use anywhere is a generator and some silver wire. Once you have the generator you can make the stuff for pennies.

    On a side note:

Please avoid throwing antibiotic substances down the drain. Antibiotic handwashes and all the junk in the local supermarket. Avoid purchasing it or using it!!! It is causing antibiotic resistance among bacteria. I would recommend using hydrogen peroxide for use in the home. Using it with white vinegar is supposed to give very strong effects but hydrogen peroxide in particular quickly breaks down and does not affect anything in the environment so is much safer and should not cause antibiotic resistance developing in the environment. Bacteria exchange resistance genes in the environment which is what is causing all the problems. It's not just pharmaceutical antibiotics that are causing the problems, it's all the marketed antibiotic substances which are thrown down the drain and that is where everyone has a responsibility! Therefore think about it and consider carefully before being conned into purchasing that rubbish.

BTW You can purchase H2O2 (Hydrogen Peroxide) in upto 12% strengths, the 35% stuff can no longer be sold to the public. I purchase 9% which is very strong stuff. It can bleach the colour out of the skin temporarily it's that strong. I use disposable gloves when using it.

Don't forget the natural deodorant made from colloidal silver ;).

Have you tried colloidal copper, made in the same way as colloidal silver (batteries, etc)?

I know that there are health benefits from drinking from a copper cup, was wondering if you get the same benefits from placing a pure 99.9% copper bar in a jug of water overnight.

I know of someone who uses CS as a deodorant to destroy the bacteria which cause the sweaty smell. Personally I would not do that because it upsets the natural balance of bacteria on the skin. People can go too far IMO with their war against bacteria. Bacteria do serve their purpose, it's only the wrong bacteria in the wrong places which cause problems. I personally do not go overboard nuking everything but there are things for health reasons that means I do need to be careful

Copper is only needed in small quantities and it must balance with Zinc otherwise problems are caused. Copper pipes does provide tiny amounts of copper and the diet does naturally tend to balance copper/silver levels so additional amounts should not really be necessary unless you have a health problem that requires it. Then zinc should be taken along with it.

If you have a generator ie electrolysis machine which regulates current then you can make whatever kind of colloidal that you require be it silver, copper or gold just by changing the electrode(s). Some people find colloidal gold to be very effective. However I would probably choke at the cost of the electrode(s). The more of the electrodes which is submerged the higher the current and faster the production will be. Using an electrolyte will also speed up the production, sodium carbonate is recommended. When CS is produced the resistance of distilled water is very high and the current flow is extremely low. It takes time before silver enters the water and as it does so the resistance of the water decreases and the current level rises. It can run away as more silver enters the water and the current rises considerably. Unfortunately that makes the silver particle sizes to also increase which is not what is wanted. The voltage needs to be decreased to maintain the constant current flow. Starting with a highish voltage and it can be decreased to maintain a constant current.
I got one of these which works very well Buck/Boost Converter
A stirrer is also needed, making one from an old PC fan of about 1600rpm and a couple of N45 to N52 neodymium magnets glued to the fan centre to attract the stir bar.
I used one of these PWM fan controller to control the fan. Note that the two direction switch does not work with PC fans as they only turn in one direction.

You can purchase complete generators, some have inbuilt stirrers but prices can get fairly high. Much higher than building your own.

There is a lot of conflicting information on the internet about CS. Most of it is incorrect IMO. I do not believe in taking Ionic silver internally. It tends to build up inside the body despite what some people claim. The part that they have difficulty understanding is that it only begins to show when it has built up from inside the body to outside the body so it only shows when it is too late. They take it daily not realising that it is building up in their bodies. The particulate silver is far less a problem because it is not charged like ionic silver. Large particles can also be a problem. The Kings and Queens of past England used to be called Blue Bloods for a reason! They tended to have a blue/grey skin colour due to silver from their cutlery and dinnerware being oxidized by acids in foods producing very large particles of silver which built up in their bodies. It had some antibiotic effects but had the problem that it coloured their bodies with their skin turning blue/grey giving rise to the term Blue Bloods.

I therefore prefer to reduce my silver. That takes some glucose/maltodextrin/maltose type of product mixed and heated to deactivate the charges in the ionic silver producing uncharged silver particles. I did purchase a stirrer/hotplate but it was faulty and I am expecting a replacement later today.
  • Vodka? Plus drinking it is more fun than iodine.
  • I use vodka... the sort of gut rot usually reserved for the mother in law... both to clean and to make tinctures (alcohol solutions) of iodine, arnica etc.

I'm extremely allergic and cannot use commercial tinctures that are made with "surgical spirit" (alcohol with methanol and formaldehyde in it)

many people are allergic to formaldehyde and its reactions can be nasty (I take massive doses of opiods a day to deal with its side-effects from 30yrs ago)

you can get odd looks with a bottle of vodka so I carry 100ml in a small plastic bottle and don't say what it is.

vodka is pure ethanol diluted to 35% with water... gin is ethanol flavoured with 5 plants and juniper berries, whiskey or whisky is ethanol flavoured with burnt wood (in the casks)
