Term time working- redundancy

Hi,
I'm posting on behalf of a friend. He is currently working on a term-time only contract. He takes his 5 weeks annual leave as part of the school holidays and the remainder is unpaid, however his salary is split over the 12 months to ensure he has a wage every month.
The working year runs from Jan-Dec. He has just been accepted for voluntary redundancy and he finishes next Friday.
As there are no school holidays in January he has worked a full month, but he received his pay and it is the standard reduced rate based on his term time working contract.
Could someone please advise me if he should have received a full months' pay or if he will have accrued his days off (just as holiday is accrued). Should he receive a slightly larger wage in Feb than just the 3 days into Feb that he is working?
I hope that's not too confusing.
Thanks!

Is he working in a school? Wouldn't his working year then be September to August as it's an academic year?
The pay calculations would depend on which month he started assessed against the amount of school holidays he wasn't working. If he started September, for example, and leaving next week the school do not owe him any money as he has already taken 3 weeks school holidays up until next week.
The calculations are complicated and he should be issued with final calculations of his salary. He should really speak to the school's business manager or payroll, they are there to help in this situation.Saving money right, left and centre0 -
He needs to contact the payroll dept as his work year may be Jan to Dec, however his pay and allowance will run Apr to Mar as his tax and NI run on this period.0

Hi, Thanks for your replies.
He doesn't work for a school, however he does work for the council. His working year runs from Jan- Dec.
I don't really have any more details unfortunately. He contacted the union and they didn't understand his query.
