hi
I opened a student account in Santander with £1000 overdraft on Sep/2010. that account was closed by Santander in October and requested to pay back that overdraft. I moved out from the address they had. I recently requested a copy of my credit report from Experian then I received a letter that I need to contact them, they didn't mention who they are and why I need to contact them. The letter was from Robinson way-hoist finance (collection agency). the default was registered on may/2011. I have not contacted anyone regarding this debt, I was wondering if this debt is statute barred?
thanks in advance,
mike

Hi,
It's difficult to assertion a cause of action date with overdraught debts, as you don't make any regular payments.
If it was defaulted in may 2011, going on that date, it would be SB in may this year.
But it's likely to of been earlier than that.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. When was the last time you made a payment or acknowledged the debt in writing?"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0
