I would have thought that the most important non-academic qualification to have is a driving licence. Even if the job doesn't require driving it shows you are capable of getting yourself around.0

Gaining qualifications quickly will not translate into a well paying job as one key component will be missing from that qualification and that is experience, for example you have stated you are interested in computing, so you could spend your time doing CCNA and come out as an network engineer however if you put the buzzword "experienced network engineer "on you CV because you fell it has taken a year to gain the qualification, the sift for CV's is going to put you in the question mark pile as you would have listed your qualifications by type and year gained.0
