Wanna know who to complain to about pigeons in an empty house

A house couple of doors down from me had been empty for years. The owner lives at his other house. The house is in a poor state due to lack of maintenance/care. He pops in now and then to collect post etc.
Somehow pigeons have gained access into his house through a missing tile on his roof. That was months ago. Today you can see pigeons perched on the roof and in the front bedroom.
Have rang the council who reply they are aware of this and have given the owner time to sort it out. The owner is not interested and insists the council should pay for the clean up etc.
I now have pigeons flying into back of my house, there are feathers and bird droppings in my back garden.
Have told my local MP who will see what he can do.
Is there anything else i can do to get rid of this problem? The neighbour cannot put her washing out due to it being covered with bird droppings

Stay away from the place, pigeon droppings are dangerous. The way to sort it is to block their way of entry, the result is dead pigeons in the house and !!!! everywhere. It needs specialist cleaning teams to sort it out and the cost is high, this will be the reason why he wants the council to sort it out and why the council are giving the guy time to sort it out himself.
Just keep sending letters to the council and the owner get as many other neighbours to do the same, hopefully they will do something.0 -
What about reporting to Environmental Health?I let my mind wander and it never came back!0

Thanks for the replies.
I have contacted the environmental department months ago.
As luck would have it this morning i saw some official looking people outside the house in question. Found out they were from the council and were waiting for the owner to turn up. If he does not turn up then they will apply through court to get permission to enter the property and sort things out. he hasn't turned up.
At least something positive is being done.Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problemsWell at least i learn something on the way

And, as this is causing a nuisance (feathers & droppings) on your property, if the council don’t get it sorted out soonish you could try a solicitors letter0

Update - the council, cleaners and tv/radio crew turned up this morning. They broke into the premise when the owner didn't turn up. The media did their job and the cleaners have started to clean the infected rooms. Just wonder how much the bill to the owner is going to beProblem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems
