Urgent Help Needed - CCJ

I know it's really frowned upon to make two threads on the same topic. Very, very sorry, won't do it again, but I'm desperate for some advice.

Just posted this: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5591544 in (I think) the completely wrong place.

Basically - the local County Council have apparently submitted a small claims against me, but I didn't receive the papers and have no idea what it's about.

The deadline for submitting a defence is tomorrow (25th Jan)

I have no idea what to do and am slightly freaking out.

1. Do I send an acknowledgement (even though I might well owe the money and am happy to pay if I do)?

2. Do I just admit it and ask to pay on payday (can I even do that) which is the 31st Jan?

3. Will either of these options result in me not getting a CCJ?

Thank you (seriously lots) for any advice.

How do you know that they've filled against you if you didn't get the paperwork?

I explained it (in a very long post) on the other thread and debt doctor has given me some clear and reassuring advice.

Sorry for posting in both places (I was just panicking) and thank you for taking the time to read this.

Debt Doctor is a professional debt adviser with citizens Advice.

It doesn't matter too much that you posted in the 'wrong' place - you got advice from the right guy. Stick with that thread where you have posted more detail.

If you can acknowledge service online (claim number and password is all that is required) do it now and buy yourself some time.

Deadline is only 25Jan if claim issued on 6 Jan (5 days from issue date to service date) the 14 days to respond
