New Solar Panels

So - we've moved into a new house with a south facing roof (exactly south). We can fit a 4K array and were quoted £7975 by SolarStyleUK over the weekend but said that was far too much. We'd need to get a loan to cover the cost and that would be £87 a month. But they phoned up tonight to say they have some excess panels they could put up of the same make and reduce the cost to £5500 - which would = £60 a month. Does this sound like a good deal to anyone????

Nope. It sounds like an unrepeatable company trying it on. What on earth are 'excess panels'? Off the back of a lorry? I'd get some more quotes in. In the meantime hope that someone on here knows the company you mentioned and can vouch or otherwise for their business ethics.Install 28th Nov 15, 3.3kW, (11x300LG), SolarEdge, SW. W Yorks.

Are they linked to Safe Style UK?
If you need a loan are you sure they're a good idea?Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
If you want panels don't finance them - whatever they are telling you, it's probably wrong.
You need to be very sure of the maths.
Why only 4KW of panels?
Current banding is the same for 4-10KW so go big if you can.

It is along read though!
Whatever you do, you've done good so far by coming here - no-one here has a vested interest, unless you count wanting to ensure you understand what you could be getting and to help you get the best deal, or even to walk away?
For starters, give us a clue of where you are in the country, first part of postcode is good, then hopefully some of the posters in your area may have some suggestions.
