DEO Enforcement

Options
What powers do the CSA have to enforce a DEO once it is set up?

My children's father has had one in place for a few years now but some months (like this month) it's really late or just doesn't get paid. The money gets deducted from the NRP's pay, but not sent over promptly (or at all).

What can the CSA do about this? (We're on CSA2)

So are you blaming the NRP or the CSA? If they have collected the money then it's up to them to forward it to you, if they haven't collected the monies then they cannot forward what they haven't got.
Perhaps the NRP has changed employer.
  • I'm blaming neither. It's the employer. He hasn't changed employer.

It gets taken from his pay check on the first working day, but it's erratic as to when it arrives with me. Sometimes it's a couple of weeks, sometimes it's the nearly the end of the month, and once or twice it's not been sent to me at all.

How long are you talking and when does your ex get paid? Employer has to pass money they have collected by the 19th of the Month after they have collected it.

So if your ex was paid on 1st January they don't need to let CSA have it until 19th February! And then CSA probably take some time to pass it onto you.

Ok, thank you. To be honest I don't know if he gets paid on the last day of the month or the first day of the month.

Once it is officially late, what can they do?

The CSA give the employer until the 26th of the month following the deduction, then the employer is liable for £1000 fine for each instance of late payment.
