Natwest Mortgage AIP through broker (How reliable)
straightline
Good Afternoon All,
I have received an "Agreement In Principle" through my broker for a Natwest Mortgage.
I see on my credit reports they have done both a soft search & a hard search, is this normal practise?
Also we they do anymore credit checks?
I'm slightly worried having a bit of a dodgy past 4-5 years ago with a couple of small defaults.
I bank with NatWest and have done for 7 years with no issues at all I also hold a Black NatWest credit card with a £5k limit which is used monthly but paid in full every month. And hold a Platinum Barclaycard with a £8k limit which isn't used.
Looking to borrow £272k which is the max I can borrow according to my FA the property price is £303k and obviously I have the cash deposit to bridge the gap.
Offer has been put in on the property and accepted, its just such a worrying time not knowing if I can get the mortgage or not!
Anyone with any experience love to hear from you or maybe you can make me fill better :j
Thanks

You have an AIP which is the best place you can be at this stage of the process.
Your broker is best placed to know if any further complications are expected. They are rare but are a possibility.I am a Mortgage Broker

which CRA's did the searches appear on? I had an AIP via NatWest online & haven't seen anything yet on any of the CRA's?0

It's showing on my clearscore CRA both a soft search and hard.
I don't think they do credit checks in branch or online for a AIP.
But a broker uses a different system apparently0 -
I too am the same, we have just had an AIP through NatWest, it's a nerve wracking time. I feel exactly the same. I can't help but read about aips and mortgages just thinking of the worst possible scenario (which actually might not happen) good luck!
