Hi there. You could try solicitors that helped me as much as they could with the same problem. TLW SOLICITORS I found them on the net,and completed the online form, from there they emailed me with updates. They couldn't take any further because I had taken out a loan using the green deal scheme. If they can't help there is no charge,if successful I think they took a third of anything recovered? Hope this helps.0

Hi There
We got solar panels about 2/3 years ago, and discovered they weren't making as much money as the company said they would.
We tried to contact the company and could reach anyone so went to the finance company that the solar panels are against, we found out that the solar panel company went into liquidation.
However my husband made a fuss about us being misold on so may things, obviously one was the amount it wasn't bringing in. Our finance company reduced the amount of the loam for us ( so maybe try there first)
However we are in another boat now as we are in the middle of selling our house and we were told at the time of purchasing the solar panels that we could do 3 things
1. take the solar panels with us
2. leave them on the house and sit take in the tariff
3. sell them with the house
Well we decided to take them with us, now we have discovered because these are getting taken off our house and are not a new deal anymore we would not get a tariff once placed on our new property.
If we new all this before had we would of sold them with the house ( which is to late now) or if told this back before we signed for them we would never of got the solar panels.
My husband has found a lawyer who is dealing with people that have been misold solar panels, I could try and find out who it is and give you details.
Hope this helps

It's unfortunate but that doesn't exclude you from taking responsibility for your own decisions ... it's hard, but true.
Access to the FiT scheme and how it operates has been published by DECC, Ofgem and numerous other source for around 7 years therefore there's no real excuse for not checking sales claims through performing basic due diligence, especially when the sums involved aren't inconsiderable.
As you haven't sold the house yet then the best option would probably be to approach the buyer and see if they're interested in you paying to refit and for them to buy separately, that way at least you'd maintain the MCS registration (as long as it's at the same site using the same equipment & hasn't been cancelled), they'd gain an income stream and maybe you'd have some money to pay off some of the finance ... as it is you're in a pretty bad place - finance and no FiT income ... in future if in doubt, don't assume, ask ...
