Hi.
I have just paid of my debits:beer: (full and final payment) I understand it will still show on my credit rating (how long!)
What I don't like is the negative rating my wife has (due to me) is there any way she can get back a 'good rating.
Debit free for the first time in 3 years :j

Congratulations on becoming debt free.
I am really not sure if you can do anything about your wifes credit rating because I am still new here and not very familiar with how credit ratings actually work but from what I have learned so far I think you will find that yours will stay bad for the next 6 years.

Well done on clearing the debts :T
Defaults etc stay on your credit file for 6 years from the date of the default, so it depends how long ago that was as to how long it will take your rating to recover.
If any of the accounts are in joint names, then unfortunately your wife's rating WILL have been damaged too, as you will have been jointly and severally liable for the debts. If none of the accounts had her name on, and you have no joint accounts, I believe she can disassociate herself from you financially, but I'm not sure exactly how that works - maybe someone else will know more."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Hi Bob well done, can you explain more about your final payment to payplan, I have a plan with them with approx £22k in it and was just wondering how much you got knocked off your balance?0

Hi gibbyni
I contacted the various companies myself. Paid £900 for a 2500loan
and 5000 for 8000.
The other was a bank loan and paid that in full 4000
But Payplan would contact the companies for you if you told them a sum of money.
Best of luck
