Natwest Loan - disappeared from account

Hi all,

Applied for a Natwest loan the other day (I bank with them - have done so for years). The loan promptly appeared in my list of accounts with the balance of £10k. However, when I checked today it shows a balance of £0 with £0 available. There does appear to have been a transfer from the loan account on 20/1 - but that's showing 'ER-DL' in the 'from' field

Have they changed their minds? Or any other ideas on what ER-DL means? I have another loan with them and this didn't happen.

Cheers

Seems at the final checks they have declined the loan, should get a letter in a few days. I'd ring up and find out why but suspect they'll say they can't tell you and wait for the letter.

  • Thanks for the reply - looking into this further, I applied for the loan on Thurs and on Fri (when this odd-looking transfer happened), I received a text message from them at around 3.30pm saying:

'Great news! Your loan application has been approved and your money will be available in your account within 48 hours'

Guess I'll know for sure by end of Tuesday
  • Just wondered what happened with this? Same thing happened to me 😬
  • With all due respect... If 10k had come in to my account and then disappeared id be on the phone to the bank quicker than you can blink!

Why have none of you called the bank to find out?
