It's a PAYE job so I'm guessing it'll come up on my employment history? Do you reckon I should disclose it at job interviews going forward, so they have no nasty shocks?

I don't know the ins and outs of employment law, but were you given the opportunity to resign immediately instead of being dismissed?

Maybe that wasn't possible. Sorry just asking.

Unfortunately no chance to resign. They were very strict and quite clear on the regulations as I had completed compliance training. I'll have a word with my uni advisor, but looks like a lost cause really, may have to start looking in a different sector

What employment history? Surely a future company will only be aware of what you tell them. In your position I'd leave it off.

    Cheers for your reply mate!

My worry is if I leave it off the CV and they screen me through Experian, security watchdog etc. Surely it will come up and could make my situation worse.

Do they only contact the ones you put on your CV i.e. Small/medium size firms?

Will I ever get a permanent role again?

The thread is getting boring now, seems you are dwelling on the negative stuff. If you want to remain pessimistic then you don't deserve to get decent employment in the future, positive things happen to positive people that is a fact.

Would you disclose it in future interviews or not bring it up at all unless mentioned?

It's just happened recently and that is why I'm down, just need some solid advice for the future! (Thank you to everyone who's replied)

How would Experian be involved ?

    Whats security watchdog ?

Its nothing to do with the size of the firm and they dont contact firms you list on your cv as employment history, they will contact your referees you provide.

Its your choice if you want a permanent role again.

I suspect that if the OP applies for a regulated job then the checks done will indeed disclose this dismissal, although I don't know how long it would take before that doesn't show any more. However, there are plenty of jobs out there that aren't regulated, even in the finance industry - I worked in it for around 25 years and didn't have a single regulated job.

Many finance and accounting roles aren't regulated. Look into whether you can still apply for regulated roles but I wouldn't omit anything with them. With non-regulated roles you can choose not to include this job in your history but I wouldn't lie if directly asked something.
Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!
