Anxiety and Depression and Claiming Jobseekers for the first time

Are you for real.....It's hardly a small amount of people as lot's of people turn up late to appointments and get treated the same way the lady did. I'm not going to make people judge what they don't know from only one angle so telling me not to say anything about all situations is something you need to deal with.
Perhaps they shouldn't then?0 -
Just wanted to update and thank everyone again for all the great info and advice. My meeting went ok! I have 4 weeks to focus on jobs that suit my degree. That's the max they're allowed to give now without re-assessing your progress.
I didn't give them access to my JobMatch account but all the job coach said against that was it'll be more work to keep a diary by hand. I feel like it actually helps me keep more organised so the extra work is worth it.
I still have a little anxiety about meeting the job seeker commitments contract and whether they'll change it to one that's harder down the line, but I do feel a lot better. Thanks, everyone, for your support. :beer:0 -
Have you considered ESA rather than JSA

It may take the pressure off you re looking for work and hopefully you will get more support0 -
Hi OP
A range of answers have been given. As has been said, there's lots of people on jsa, there's lots of different jcp staff. All I can say is, it's the job I do and I do my utmost, every day to help people with the queries/practical support you mentioned in an earlier post.
If it's something I am not able to help with, I work with my caseload to find that support through local training companies/providers/ online support options. I and my colleagues, want to help people back to work, but I appreciate that there are some staff that are different and I've seen this, when I was claiming just before I started this job several years ago. Please don't think all the staff are like that, I promise, we aren't.
It's just a shame you mostly only hear about the bad stuff.
Best of luck with your job search. And hopefully you'll be enjoying spending your first wage packet soonxx
Please be nice to all moneysavers!

Well done on the battle with Anxiety and Depression if you have managed to survive a PIP/DLA assessment you will find the DWP a walk in the park, Remember when job hunting some businesses have a guaranteed interview scheme for those of us with disabilities which mental health related it is classed as disability, i found it good to apply for jobs that offered GIS to build up my confidence, however like everyone else who is applying for that job you will still be judged on you academic and skills experience the same as they.0
