Do we / Don't we pay off the mortgage????

Options
My husband has retired with reasonable lump sum. I will still be working for another 5 years or so. Do we pay off our mortgage or not??? relatively low at £40k. Everything has always been split because I have a good wage too, so does my husband pay it off and I reimburse him my half monthly til it's done or does he pay 'his' half and I continue the repayments to Santander for the remainder??? Any advice welcome.
