Self-employed or employee

I was l told I was self-employed in a driving delivery job but on leaving and trying to fill in a self assessment tax form I find that EVERY indicator tells me I was an employee. Any suggestions on what I should do because as an employee of some kind I would be i entitled to a years holiday pay and not pay high levels of national insurance

If your assessment of the nature of the work leads you to conclude that you were an employee and not self employed, you may have a claim for holiday pay. There are strict time limits that apply for such a claim though. When did you leave and when did you first become aware that you may not be self employed?
As to the question of whether you were self employed or an employee (or a worker, which is the other alternative), I wrote a post recently on that issue of employment status, and you may want to have a read of that.

NIC for self employed usually works out cheaper than for employees.0
