Help with debts, possible IVA

A year ago I moved abroad funded by Family, I was in an IVA which will have now failed. I am 66 and until recently could not envisage ever having anything more than my state pension for the rest of my life, so put my head in the sand. I have now been given an opportunity which would allow me to do an IVA again. So my questions are, is it possible? And should I just contact the IP that I originally used, who I was very happy with.
I do realise my mistakes here and would now like to put them right. I do not wish to go bankrupt.
Any help would be greatfully received. Thank you.

Hi,
If you would care to post a statement of affairs, SOA, then people may offer there opinions on your situation.
SOA calculator here :

To advise properly we need to know your level of debt now etc, what exactly happened previously, and what the situation now is with those debts.
I will move your past to the debtfreewannabe forum, as you will get far more responses there than you will here.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Please note that Ambassadors are not moderators. Any posts you spot in breach of the Forum Rules should be reported via the report button, or by emailing forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com. Hi there and welcome to MSE,
I agree with sourcrates that we will need more details to give clear advice. A key issue could be that if your IVA didn't officially fail, and you have received a lump sum, that could be at risk under the winfall clause, that is in most IVA contracts and you may lose it. It will all depend on whether the IVA was certified to have failed or not.
Please post more details and we will be able to offer more advice.
