EMERGENCY - All Spice Alternative

I have just come into the kitchen to try the Jamaican Rice with Peas, which calls for All Spice in the recipe. I thought I have some, but its Spice Mix I have, which appears to be for fruit rather than a rice dish. Is there any alternative to this?

TIA,

Me!

  • no, don't use the 5 spice powder, use a little bit of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves instead of the allspice.
  • Allspice alternatives here.

    :A
I want to move to theory. Everything works in theory.
  • Gotcha, I have all those so I'll give it a go. Many thanks!

We quite like it, and it was easy to make. Will defintely try it again in future! Maybe with some fried chicken, yum! Makes loads too, my OH had some today and said it was really nice!

    Good luck!
