So i moved a few years ago and have no intention of going anywhere now, very setted, extension being completed etc. good schools for the little one.
Can anyone give me a quick rundown on the state of getting some solar energy installed? I know years ago there were companies fitting them for free and then they effectivley owned your roof for 25 years? Its a long term money saving stratergy with the rising cost of energy and i have a new pressurised water tank in the loft so either water or electricity wouldnt be too difficult. I did do some investigating on the net but its all sales rep based and seems quite a competitive market now so i know if they are after your money they are going to tell you whatever you want to hear, 1930's semi with the sun hitting the roof early morning till late afternoon, any comments or pointers/pitfalls would be welcomed

Hiya, if you start with a quick read of the PV FAQs sections 1 & 2, and perhaps an attempt at sec 5. then pop back with questions, load of folk will help.
Price wise you want to aim for about £5k for a 4kWp system, though the bigger the better.
Speak soon.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 28kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.
For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.0
