No job offers but should I tell potential employer about other potential empoloyer?

I’ve recently spoken to two different firms about employment opportunities. They are both similar consultancies. It turns out they have both bid for the same contract, and both have said they would employ me if they win the work. I’d be happy working for either of them. Should I tell either of them about the other even though the tender process is still pending and there is no formal offer? My reason is that one of these firms has been quite open with me about other possible jobs they may want to put me on and I am wondering if they may employ me anyway if they know a competitor could get me if they lose the contract to them – I don’t know for a fact that this would happen, but I have nothing to lose, right?

What if company A get the tender but don't offer you a job? Company B might not think to offer you anything else because they assume you got a job with company A when they got the tender?

Unless you are asked specifically about other jobs you have applied for I would say nothing. There is no certainty that either will offer you a job, and it is possible that the knowledge that you are also speaking to competitors could actually go against you.
What they don't know can't hurt you.
