Londoners, how do you feel about the property market situation?

I just saw a shed for sale at £400,000. How do you guys feel about the living situation in London? Do you see yourself getting on the property ladder and getting a home there? If so, how?

How do you feel about living in London and desires to own a home?

Rightmove link please Mr multiple thread starter.

I think London prices are insane, but inevitable given the rigged market.

Moved here 30 years ago, bought before the major boom. Can't move to anything bigger/better, so t's a good job we like our house. Our kids will have problems if they stay in London

If you want to buy a two-up two-down terrace or even semi, or in some areas, a three bed semi, there are plenty of examples, albeit overpriced. Four-bed are much rarer, and garden sizes are much more poky than most people would like. Bigger houses are vanishing as they get converted into blocks of flats, which is probably a better answer to the housing shortage. Unfortunately pubs and cinemas also get replaced by blocks of flats, leaving fewer amenities for the residents to use.

Willing to make the sacrifice in housing temporarily for high pay and specialist career opportunities that don't exist elsewhere, but if I wanted a family then I'd be looking to live elsewhere.
Commutes are tolerable for people who don't have to commute 5 days a week.

Yeah I just could not commute everyday, especially at peaks times, luckily I have now dropped down to one day a week from about 3 days (although for the next 12 weeks it will be 2 x half days). Even better is that I don't travel in or back during peak times.

It's a game of two halves, corks popping every year for people happy with their abode who own.

    Stony silence for the rest.

The noticeable difference being the former took advice from this place, the latter took advice from the house price crashists.
Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.

Do you really thinks millions of Londoners bought their property based on financial advice form a hidden forum almost nobody reads? How quaint.

"Sell"? What is this thing you earthlings call "sell", Kirk?
