Hi I bought some Gillian McKeith Hemp Seeds (they were reduced at boots) as I have dry skin but it doesn't say how much to use so I did a serch on the net and it seems 4 tablespoons a day is the correct amount. It read some very positive articles but I would like to know if anyone on here has actually seen the results? Its ok reading articles but I would like to hear from 'real' people who have had results.
I have dry skin but I also get breakouts and blackheads but I wqas wondering if these were caused by the dry skin clogging my pores
so I was thinking that working from the inside out is the best way to go.
I have just had a bowl of granola with 4 tbs of hemp seed and natural yohurt and I've not seen any results yet :rotfl:

How long it takes for every cell in your body to obtain optimal omega 3 status depends on how much omega 3 you have been consuming in the past.
With lycopene (from tomato puree) it take roughly 12 weeks of daily consumption of 55g of tomato paste to produce the improvement in photoprotection.
I would expect it to take just as long for the nutritional benefits of hemp seed to penetrate every cell in your skin.
If you started taking an effective (4-5000iiu) Vitamin D3 now it would be 90 days before your reached optimal status.

Thanks for that. Do you think hemp is the best thing for my skin? And have you tried it?0

Looking at the nutrient content of Hemp seed I think they will be as good. So really it depends on taste and price. Flaxseeds do need to be ground or soaked first as they pass straight through otherwise. The only time I tried hemp seeds I thought they were a bit crunchy and not particularly nice to eat but maybe mine were out of date by the time I got round to trying them.
I was dead miffed they wouldn't sprout. Thought I might be able to grow my own but they didn't appear to be "life."My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

I have putting a tablespoon of ground flaxseeds on my breakfast cereal for about 5 years now and my skin is very soft, even my DD commented on how soft it is,not just my face...my whole body.
I originally started taking them because I read they could help with menopause symptoms,so the soft skin was a bonus.
Mind you,I have also taken Evening Primrose capsules for over 20 years so they could also have helped with my skin.0 -

Evening primrose oil 56 menopausal women 500 mg per day Six months
No significant difference compared with placebo Similar incidence between groups It does look as if EPO may improve skin function. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

Flaxseeds are really good for you but, as Ted says, they have to be ground up or soaked. Also, start with a small amount, say a teaspoonful, and gradually increase the amount or you may find you need to be close to a toilet a lot of the time in the first few days!0

Hi thanks for all the advice, I am sticking to the hemp seeds for now they are very tasty so thats a bonus. I finished the Gillian McKeith ones that I got for half price already so I went to town yesterday to get some more, no one had any except for the McKeith ones for £3.99  and its only 150 grammes!!! I still bought them though becasue I didn't want to have a gap in the use of them IYSWIM, I want to see if they help my skin.
So my question is does anyone know where I can buy Organic Shelled Hemp Seeds from for alot cheaper than that please?0
