Just tried to request a claim form from Tesco bank quoting that I was making a claim under section 75 bla bla bla. They said they don't have a form as such, sounded very dubious and after taking some details, put me on hold for ten minutes, at which point I hung up.

I'm going to use the letter template instead. What sort of evidence should I put in with the letter? I looked on southern rail's website but could only find performance statistics for the current period, whereas I'm looking for evidence relating to last year as my husband eventually changed job as he couldn't take the journey anymore. Is there somewhere I could download historic stats?

An annual season ticket holder has managed to use a little-known section of the Consumer Credit Act (CCA) to get a £2,400 refund from his credit card provider

Section 75 is 'little known'? There is no better known section of the CCA than Section 75! The transition of MSE news reporting to 'the internet is going crazy for this one weird old tip' tabloid journalism is finally complete.

All of the sites I use only seem to go back a month or so. You could try Raildar: https://raildar.co.uk/#pricing they claim to go back 12 months, but I've not used them since you had to register (apparently there is a free option detailed in that link, but YMMV).

Bank Debit cards usually double as visa or mastercard with the long number. Debit charge-back arrangements follow different rules to T&Cs of the consumer credit act S75. When in a non-sterling country I believe the respective credit card rate is used even when its a debit terminal transaction, with PIN. So how do I know which was used during a transaction or can I challenge both Debit (Bank)? or Credit (Visa/Mastercard. Or must I have a separate 'credit card' agreement i.e. statement to challenge S75?

To answer the question in your post title...

Look at both your credit card statement and your bank statement.
Your ticket purchase will only appear on one of them.

SWT and GWR ticket machines not taking Amex since a software update and it seems to be taking a while to be fixed. To some, that might look like a punishment...
