Washing Beanie Babies ????? Do i dare!!!!

Have 3 Beanie Babies soft toys that say surface washable. They need more than a surface/sponge clean, but to spare me taking the filling out and re-sewing the toy up, is there anyone out there who has washed a Beanie toy in the washing machine??? Did it survive the process???Or was it fit for the bin?:eek:

Who knows, I wouldn't wash them as they are all mint with tags sealed in bags with silica gell in them to prtext them. but if they won't come clean by washing the surface what do you have to loose stick them in the wash on a gentle cycle and see what happens, maybe use a laundy bag and stick some socks in there to provide padding?

We have lots of beanies that have been loved to death and are certainly not in mint condition anymore (plus ones we have bought at car boots for about 10p!!). They have all been in the washing machine and the silver logo on the tag washes off. They come up nice and clean tho!!!
