This is what I was told at the time also. However the difference wasn't big enough to make me a saving as the delay meant they would take another mortgage payment at my old rate (2% higher), more than cancelling out the saving.But the banks are made of marble,

Hello all, just thought I would say that our new mortgage went through today at the lower rate! I did have to amend the application, and have second telephone consultation, but the process was much shorter than a full re-application. Thanks everyone for your advice0
