Hi everyone,
Just a quick check-in. All is generally going well from a budget point of view, really pleased with the new habits Mouse and I have formed, although I did go over the shopping budget for last week... my usual Boots cream face wash was 3 for 2 - at £9.95 a pop  I really wanted to grab the savings. Unfortunately my ridiculously sensitive skin requires ridiculously expensive face wash! So 1/3 off something I was going to have to buy seemed like the right decision. Will just keep a close eye on spending over the next few weeks and use every last morsel of food in the house. I'll report back any fun combinations in a few weeks time
Have a great moneysaving week all

Hi all,
Another brief check in after a couple of weeks away. All has been relatively steady in the Bird/Mouse household. Mouse gets paid at the end of this week (thank god!) we have been scraping by following a wobble with this months budget. Mouse's brother needed some emergency dental work so we helped him pay for that which pushed us into using going over budget but all will be rectified soon!
It's interesting how after 4/5 months since LBM I have gone from looking at the budget every day, to one per week. I guess this is a natural progression as the feeling of control and some stability returns. It sometimes feels like it might be the start of poor finance choices again, and yet somehow deep down I know this isn't the case... it's the cautious moneysaver-convert part of the brain checking that old habits aren't resurfacing I guess!
Have a great week all
