Poundworld Everything £1

Options
Just visited my local store. They now sell some items for £2, £3. £5 or even £20.

Outside as you enter the store the shop front signage is Poundworld everything £1.
yet they sell items above this price.
how do you stand legally if you pick up a £5 item and they charge you £5. I have entered a store which states everything £1 yet when you come to pay they want £5.

I know these items are in areas of the store which show the enhances prices but surely this is questionable as you've entered a store which states everything £1.

The only issue is whether the advertising is honest. I'm not sure whether the store front counts as advertising or not.

It doesn't cost anything to complain to ASA or Trading Standards if you feel strongly about it.

At some sites they share the "poundworld" name with "discount UK" with both names over the door ( I believe the discount UK name is owned by Poundworld )

In these shops they sell higher priced goods. In Swindon they have all the Poundworld stuff at the front , with the Discount UK stuff towards the back . Is the store you are looking at one of these dual sites ?

I noticed this with our local Poundworld some time ago, but they seem to have the higher priced items (big containers of washing liquid etc) all over the store, and I haven't noticed the Discount UK signs above the door.
