Vinegar as rinse aid

Hello,

I was running short of dishwasher rinse aid so I thought why not put vinegar, and so I did. It is running now so I have no idea how it is going to come out.

However I have since googled this and read that vinegar can corrode the rubber bits inside dishwashers and render them unusable in the long term. Ooooopppppssss too late now, but one load of vinegar should not be too damaging.

Has anyone tried this, and what results did you get? Thank you.

I use vinegar and never had a problem.
I think they tell you that so you go buy expensive stuff

I don't use either rinse aid nor salt in the dishwasher. I just use dishwasher tablets - usually from Aldi.

I've only ever used vinegar as a rinse aid and my machine is just fine. It's just celebrated its 11th birthday.
