Should I do Twitter comps?

I have never entered Facebookor Twitter comps and I have a few questions to ask you all about Twitter!
1)roughly how many comps per day via Twitter are you entering?
2)do you have to follow and be followed to do comps via Twitter
3)do the prizes justify time spent
4)for someone who has little computer skills would I find the whole thing too complex
5)is there a dummy's guide to set up a Twitter account(just for Comping) with clear instructions without assuming any knowledge
Thanks for any help/advice and wish you all good luck for the year

They are really easy to do so I wouldn't let not being computer savvy put you off. once you are signed up generally when you open up a twitter link it goes right to the competition post which you just have to click follow then retweet. You don't need to be followed back. If you go sign up to a twitter account now you can come back and let us know any questions you have as it might make more sense when you have signed up and entered a few. Thanks to everyone that posts :T:money:

Most Twitter comps take literally 2 seconds to enter, click on the link, click follow, click retweet ... Done.
People are dumb for not doing Twitter, in my opinion ... if for nothing else, the green ticks on the forum give you a sense of hope0 -

You could ask this question for any competition you enter. The answer generally is probably not, but if you have time on your hands and want to give them a go, then do, but don't expect to win simply because you have entered hundreds or even thousands. But as others have said, they are really quick to enter.
You might go for months and months without a win on there, but then one good prize and you would think it has all been worthwhile.0 -
Twitter comps are the easiest to enter, I just sit and do them all in my lunchtime at work. I've won quite a few things on Twitter too - I'd say about a quarter of the prizes I've won in the past couple of years have been on Twitter.
I also know very little about Twitter and purely use it for entering comps! Although you do get to know more about it just from comping on it if you get my drift.0 -
I would definitely recommend doing Twitter competitions due to the fact that they are so easy to enter, as others have mentioned. All you generally have to do is 'retweet' the competition or follow the company or magazine (etc). That can be done in less than half a minute.0

Unsure.
2)do you have to follow and be followed to do comps via Twitter
You must have a public Twitter account for them to see your entry, most Twitter competitions state in the terms and conditions you must follow them, although not all.
3)do the prizes justify time spent
You can enter for a pack of biscuits or a holiday, it all depends on what you are after, if you want the prize then it is worth it as only takes a second or two to enter, so no harm in entering and if you win, bonus.
4)for someone who has little computer skills would I find the whole thing too complex
It is usually the matter of clicking 'Follow' and 'Retweet' nothing else to it usually, although the occassional competition will require a 'reply' or 'like'
5)is there a dummy's guide to set up a Twitter account(just for Comping) with clear instructions without assuming any knowledge
It takes you through the steps as you sign up.
Go to twitter.com, Sign up.
I have won Twitter and Facebook competitions in the past, although some look like they have thousands of entries, someone has to win. If it is one entry per person then you all have the same chance of winning. You have to remember there are loads of competitions out there that do not display the number of entries and you could have a far less chance on winning those.Thank you to everyone who posts competitions and good luck to everyone who enters.0 -
Hi there thanks for all your help - just another question:
If I have 10 followers and I retweet a comp I'm assuming my 10followers then get this comp.If they then retweet the comp will I get the comp 10times from my 10 followers?0 -
Twitter comps are so easy to enter but I have only won twice on them. Still do them though as they are so quick. Also if you have a twitter account you can get more entries on gleam and rafflecopter comps too.Comping since 2014!0
