HSBC keep doing that with my credit card that I never use. They seem to think that having a credit limit of only £1500 was preventing me from spending and that therefore I needed £3000!!!

    Interesting to see this.

I've just finished editing my guide to teaching teens about money - written for schools, teachers and kids. It's about 12,000 words long and is based on the Teen Cash Class I did for Tonight with Trevor.

Next step i get it proofed and sub-editted then laid out and its going to be a free PDF download on the site in a few weeks. Hopefully that'll help

    But sssssh!

On the other hand Barclaycard saw I hadn't used my credit card for over a year so when they put their interest rates up they sent me a letter stating my interest rate had gone down. However it's been over 7 years since I've paid any interest on any of my credit cards or had an overdraft.

barrymung you can contact the credit card company and ask them NOT to put your credit card limit up.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

  • Hi everyone i am sorry i missed the programme with Martin as i would have liked to have seen it. I think that children should be taught at home about managing their money and i think every responsible parent will do this, as it is so important. It is a scary world out there when you first start a job and earning and not knowing how to budget etc, so yes i believe parents should teach their children when they are shopping while small, you can make it into a game so they learn the value of money. You can also teach them to save their pocket money up for something they would like and not to go and buy it for them. Learning can be fun if it is done with the right attitude.
