Left company , no bonus chrque . Should I just forget it and move on?

Hello
I left m employers, giving only 1 weeks notice in November.
Usually , it's a month.
Normally, we receive a bonus cheque just before Christmas .
It's about £400,
I left mid November . I know that sometimes , people who leave still get bonus as they contributed to the working year.
It looks like my employers are bitter. Reason I say that ,because the tea lady phoned me and she got bonus, and I assume ex colleague did as well.
I received printed payslips for year etc.
Should I enquire, or just let it go?
I would feel embarrassed tbh asking after the horse has bolted.

Virtually all bonus schemes are "discretionary" plus, in any case, it is common practice not to pay bonuses to employees who have given notice.
Plus, why did you leave with only one week's notice? Was that mutually agreed because if not they they could, in theory at least, have a claim against you for any unavoidable losses caused by you failing to honour your notice.

Was it a contractual or discretionary bonus? If discretionary then forget it is the best option. If contractual then it'll depend on the terms of the contract, often you have to be employed when the bonus is paid in order to receive it. The fact that you broke the terms of the contract yourself could mean that if you pursue the bonus they may retaliate by suing you for any additional costs they incurred by you leaving early.0

Consensus is that most employment contracts will say that bonuses are discretionary and also employees who leave before a bonus is due to be paid are not entitled to a bonusIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

I've got the picture now .
Bonus is discretionary .
I left because, I had a week,to get out of the flat I had sold .
Left them in a bit of an awkward situation obviously
So, I'll,move on and forget about it
