Hi everyone, looking to buy a Nespresso machine but finding all the different ones very confusing!

I want one that will make lungos, lattes etc
Ideally with a milk frother although not essential
Don’t want to spend more than £150
And want to be able to use the Aldi coffee pods!

    Any advice welcome! :)

Have a look on their website. They do a subscription service where you can get a machine for a quid. You buy a monthly coffee subscription though

Lidl have their nespresso type one on offer from tomorrow for £29.99 so it could be worth a punt.
I am very tempted but would like to see some real reviews rather than just articles from newspapers about it.
I really want to be able to use the capsules from Aldi as they get great reviews and are cheap.
I did find the dolce gusto compatible ones in Aldi for the first time this week but they only had cappuccino and latte macchiato which I don't really want but I got them to try anyway.
If anyone can find a real review I'd appreciate it. I'm going to look for a second hand aeroccino frother to go with the machine.

Nespresso machines currently have vouchers for capsules. Up to 150 per machine, thereby reducing the cost. 150 is about £50.

All capsules are a matter of taste.

I only buy Nespresso strong capsules, nothing less than 9 strength.

I've tried major supermarket brands and they are all poor in comparison. The strong ones taste bitter and aren't strong enough for my taste. They do look smaller so may contain less coffee.

I've also had cheaper ones which split in the machine, Waitrose ones in particular.

I agree with the comment about supermarket capsules, i've not found one yet that is as good as the Nespresso ones. The machines are quite cheap now, you don't need an all singing all dancing machine, they all do the same thing. I take my coffee black so don't need the milk frother thingy. It's expensive for what it is anyway.

I ended up buying the lidl capsule machine after all. It definitely doesn't feel as robust as the nespresso one but you get what you pay for.
Made a few drinks with it already and it does the job for me.
Found some Italian espresso capsules in B&M for 69p for 10 which is really nice coffee. Strength 9 I think and not bitter.

  • The Caffe Corso model is £175 but the Magnifica model is £249. Does anyone know if the extra price is worth it? From what I can see they look pretty identical? Thanks :)
  • At work, I use a Lavazza Machine, which while making a nice coffee, there have been issues with the frother and limescale just 3-months after purchase.

I am now looking for a coffee machine for home use.

Hubby and I like our coffee black, 100-130ml per shot and with a generous creme. What should I be looking for which?

    I don't mind capsule or non-capsule.
  • £3 a day for coffee adds up and to be honest it’s pretty average. Would a bean to cup machine be cost effective and are they worth it? Perhaps you can recommend some brands?

Please no posts saying that drip coffee is better etc. I like fresh espresso and frothed milk.
