Is halifax-intermediaries.co.uk only for mortgage brokers?

Hi all,

Is halifax-intermediaries.co.uk only for mortgage brokers?

It says "FOR THE USE OF MORTGAGE INTERMEDIARIES & OTHER PROFESSIONALS ONLY" on top the website page.

Does that mean if I found a good rate or mortgage option from there as a normal person or existing Halifax customer I can't have it?

Halifax (and a lot of lenders) do sometimes have deals available only through brokers/certain brokers.

The same deal may be available on the normal halifax website, but if it is not then you would need to go through a broker.

The message is there to dissuade the general public from using the website as data on there.

    1. Is not aimed at the borrower and may be misunderstood
    2. May not be applicable to a borrower
    3. Should not be considered advice or relevant information

By the way - Brokers are also 'normal people'

You do tend to find the detailed lending criteria on the intermediary sections of various lenders which can be useful if for some reason you choose not to use a broker as it can help avoid making a potentially 'wasted' direct application.
