Firstly, apologies if this has been asked before, I did a search but didn't come up with much.
I'm a fairly new vegan converting from being vegetarian, I've been experimenting with a few recipes and new items but I'm on a budget and I've found some replacements to be very costly. I'm not too fussed for meat and cheese substitutes (other than Linda M sausages!) which is lucky really. My OH is omni so I need to cater for us both and I like to make us both the same or similar meals, he will eat veggie/vegan as long as it tastes good which is helpful.
We are currently trying to move house so our mortgage is increasing but I will hopefully be getting a decent garden so I can grow a few herbs and things myself.
I was hoping there are some lovely vegan MSE people who are willing to share recipe ideas that are cheap and tasty!

There is a facebook page called Bosh which has some fab recipes. Its worth taking a look.0

Google whole food plant based eating and you will find loads of info. Eating that way avoids the substitutes which can hike your grocery costs0

Do you like Indian food? I often try to recreate the veggie dishes.....without using butter ghee. I pick things from their online menus then google the recipes.0

The Happy Pear are worth a look. They also have a youtube channel.
I also like The Minimalist Baker, and while not strictly vegan, they do tend to have mostly vegan recipes, or tell you the vegan options. Also have some youtube vids.I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

There was a long thread about this not long ago which would be worth a read

Thanks all, I didn't know about Jack Monroe and her recipes look great so I'll give them a go. Don't know how I didn't manage to find the other thread on recipes but I've now had a read and there are some great ideas.
I've done a few minimalist baker recipes and enjoyed them, lots of good ideas for me.
I do like Indian food but I never seem to make it as nice at home but I'll have a look for some recipes and have another go0 -
I enter Indian vegan recipes in the YouTube search. There are loads there.0

A cheap'n'cheerful meal I sometimes do is what Mr LW has asked for tonight. I'm vegetarian, not vegan, but I think this would work if you use a vegetable based oil for frying the onion.
Tagliatelle with tinned toms and veggie sausages (you could use your Linda McC ones) - serves two.
Dice half an onion and fry in the bottom of a saucepan.
Cut four sausages of choice into small bite-sized chunks and add to the saucepan.
Add a helping of herbs of your choice, plus a good few shakes of black pepper (I have peppercorns in a grinder).
Add a tin of chopped tomatoes.
Heat it all through, stirring carefully.
While you're doing all this, prepare enough tagliatelle for two people (I think the pack suggests 75g per person) and cook in water as per pack instructions.
Drain tagliatelle, divide onto two plates, carefully put the tomato and sausage mix over the top.
You could ring the changes by substituting any chunky veggies that want using up for the sausages (may need to steam them first if they're root veg).
HTHIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
