Repaying holiday money when leaving sainsburys?

Hello!

I've been working at Sainsburys part time for a while now and it's about time I left the nest!
Our holiday forms are up until Sat 11th March 2017 and we've just been given our new holiday forms which will be starting from Sunday 12th March 2017.
I have taken all my annual entitlement for the year of 2016/17 which was 82 hours.
I want to leave around the end of February 2017 but I'm worried that I'll have to repay any holiday I've taken?
Surely if I've taken all my holidays but still worked the year I won't have to repay anything will I? What date will I have to work until to not repay anything?
How does this work as anything I've read has confused me!

Thank you for your time and I hope I've made sense!

If you work the whole year then no there won't be any holidays to pay back

Does that mean when I hand in my 4 weeks notice I'll have to make sure I'm working up until the last day on the holiday form (11th March) to ensure I don't have to repay anything? What if I leave a week before the end of the holiday year, will I just have to repay a weeks worth of hours?

Thank you for your reply :)

Strictly speaking yes, Its entirely up to the company if they want to claim back what would be a very small amount

  • To clarify, if you get 82 hours a year, you can consider this 1.6 hours (near as dammit) holiday for each week worked. So yes, in theory if you left a week early you would have to pay back 1.6 hours. It is extremely likely that the computer will work this out for everyone with a firm as big as Sainsburys, so although it's a small amount it should be automatically deducted.

If you have the flexibility, my choice would be to work until the end of the leave year!
