Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
Huge sympathies on your early start. I know the joys only too well. Won't waffle on but hope you have a better sleep tonight.

Hope you've recovered a bit from the early start LF. My DD used to get up between 4 and 5 when she was really little... so glad she grew out of that :rotfl: xx

  • Thanks Bob and mummytogirls - reading your diaries I know you have lots of fun with LO's too so I appreciate the sympathy! He just seems to have a few weeks where he wakes really early and then it gets better and I think he's cracked it - and then it goes back to early! I've given up trying to work it out and just go with it now - and hope he goes to a later start soon.

A quick update from me as it has been a busy couple of days but:

    - a NSD yesterday so that's up to 12 for Jan :)

    - paid an extra £60 off the CC today so it is now sitting at £490 :)

    - picked up 7 (:o) bars of my favourite Green and Blacks choc today at only 39p (really!) per bar :):):) Was very happy with that! Now I just have to make it last and not eat it really quickly as it is sitting in my cupboard!

Hope it's a good night for everyone :)

  • Just wanted to jump in and say I turned from long-time lurker to first-time poster because of this thread. As a fellow single mum, I can't tell you how amazing it is to be able to relate so much to the ups (and downs) of managing kids and finances. Thanks for taking the leap of faith and posting, Little--Fish, and I'm looking forward to your future posts :-)
  • Thanks Debbie - that's so nice of you to say! Will you be starting a diary too? I'd definitely recommend it for helping to keep on track and for motivation. It's also extra good as a single person/parent too as I don't have an OH to talk about my plans with, so by writing them down here it has the benefit of feeling like I'm telling someone! I will keep an eye out for your diary :)

I'm going for another NSD today - we have plenty of food in (and I have PLENTY of chocolate in!), car has enough petrol to get me to work for the rest of the week, and there is nothing else we need.

I have been thinking about my savings plans and am going to convert my Help to buy-ISA into a Lifetime ISA when (if) they come out in April. I'm quite excited about this and hope it will help me to reach my goal of buying a house even quicker - although it will still take years.

    SO:

STEP ONE Pay off CC by end of March

STEP TWO Transfer HTB-ISA into L-ISA in April and save max. amount into this per year.

I will let update with Step three when I have thought on it for a while.

Hope everyone has a good day, it's looking like the Sun will come out here - hooray - I love these cold but clear Winter days :)
