CMS and a tax free pension lump sum...

Options
Hello

I've studied the rules of the Child Maintenance Service regarding what is included in income when they make a child support calculation, however one issue still seems unclear.

Under the new pension rules, from age 55 you can take the first 25% of your pension as a tax free lump sum, either all at once or in stages. Is this included as part of income when making the child support calculation?

Since it is tax free, and other tax free income from savings like ISA's is not included, does the same apply to a pension lump sum?

Obviously normal regular income from a pension, that goes through the HMRC and is taxable, would be included.

Does anyone have any experience or advice on this matter please?

John :-)
