Back Home and OR Letter waiting for me!

Hi everyone

I just got home today after taking a weeks break with friends as I said before i went. I told the OR office about it at initial contact on 3rd Sep when I went BR ... so today I find at home waiting for me OR letter fixing phone interview for Monday 24th at 3pm and enclosing forms to be returned by then!! Impossible .. and the forms only ask for the same info as on my SOA ... ie details of my benefits and spending!

I am really worried they will get stroppy as I didnt send the forms back, and they want a years worth of bank and credit card statements and the cut up credit cards ... I never kept any statements, too nasty to look at, I dont have any except last months. The credit cards were cut up and destroyed when I decide to go BR ... I guess OR want to go over all my spending with a fine tooth comb ... am I going to be in big doo doo on Monday?

I have to admit I am feeling VERY scared about this OR interview thing, I wish it had been sooner after BR would have been up to speed then, have sort of gone of track since then if you see what I mean LOL

Help me folks, I got the only short tempered judge it seems so I bet I get a swine of an OR!

  • Hi Gratton,
firstly, i hope you had a nice break.
Secondly, don't worry!!!! i had NO bank statements, and just a few CC statements. I did have most of my cards. Threse i sent to the OR and when asked where the rest were, i was honest and said i hadn't been able to face my post for many months and anything that looked like a CC or Bank statement went straight in the bin. He was fine with that.
I don't know about you sending things in late, but, again i'm sure that will be fine. You informed them you were going away and they will probably just ask for you to send stuff to them later (7 weeks on, and i am still sending them stuff i should have sent before my interview)
Try not to worry about the interview. IF you have done nothing wrong and IF you have nothing to hide, then just be honest. They really seem to appreciate that.
Good luck for Monday, and from what i have gathered ALL ORs are nice people. Let us know how it goes.

Edit..is there any way you can drop the forms off direct to the offices??? maybe a good friend can do it?
The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter :(
  • I am sure it is nothing to worry about, I didn't get asked for anything by my OR, but on the day I went BR I brought in 3 months worth of statements and spreadsheets and gave them to the ORs clerk on the day. The OR can get the statements directly from your bank and credit card provider. When you have interview on Monday remind them that you did inform them that you would be away and tell them what you can provide and promise to send in immediately.
Went BR 25th May 2007 at 12.33, OR Interview now done. BSC No 88

Yes gratton20, don't worry too much.

I was pretty much the same as betterlatethannever. I had loads of stuff missing, and my OR didn't get quite a lot of the stuff I could find until well after my interview. My OR's response was just "Oh, right. We see that quite a lot. Just send us what you have."

The OR's really are used to seeing people who have managed to get their affairs and records in a complete mess (fortunately :o). As said just be honest and it will be fine. :)
