Apologies if I'm in the wrong thread, I'm just curious, please advise me where to switch to if so?
I've been a member of the Nectar scheme for around three years now and since I have probably redeemed around £60 worth of points since then, and saved me over half the price when filling my car up when money was tight just before Christmas. So if I do any sort of supermarket shopping, I try to use Sainsbury's despite it being quite expensive and it's about time I saved money. The same goes for filling my car up, I try to use either BP or Sainsbury's for Nectar points again, just because you can use it anywhere these days.
I've used Tesco's Club card too for a few years. I think I've maybe earned around £6 worth of vouchers in this time that I've never used because I used to lose them. It's rare I shop at Tesco's but it's just I used to pass one every morning so I'd call in for a bottle of water and some lunch or something. The last time I used it was around October time when I filled up at ESSO but it doesn't really mean much to me.
Now the new one is Morrisons Match and More. I've never used one but I'm hearing of a few friends filling up at Morrisons and earning points on their Match & More cards to save money on their fuel purchases. And I just topped my tank up today and went into pay with a hope they would introduce the card to me but they'd made a mistake with two customers so I was kind of just forced to pay and get out of there. I know people may tell advise me not to use Supermarket fuel, but at the moment, money is a bit of a struggle and I'm not really driving the poshest car around.
I live in a small village and the nearest petrol station is ESSO but it's quite expensive, I'd say the second nearest is Morrisons and it'll usually be the cheapest. I keep getting advised to start filling up there and I might start doing that. But I'm not just thinking for fuel here, I'm just looking for advice on the best supermarket loyalty scheme in your opinions

Shop where it is cheapest and see the points as a bonus.
On paper Tesco Clubcard is much more generous than Nectar as Tesco give 1p back per point whereas Nectar is 0.5p per point. Also Tesco seems better for the swap your vouchers in for Alton Towers tickets or Pizza Express voucher offers. But Nectar has a lot more bonus offers and till coupons. Although I often get spend X get X off at Tesco vouchers in the post and a cash discount is better than points in the future.
I shop at Tesco in general, Asda occasionally as it is closer to our house (but quality often not so great) and Sainsbury's sometimes as their own brand is better quality.
Also if you think you have lost Clubcard vouchers log into the website, you can reprint them or convert them to vouchers (at 3-4x the value) for restaurants and attractions.0 -
It's a false economy to base your shopping loyalty on the best loyalty card scheme (whatever that means).
For me, the Morrissons scheme is best, though I rarely shop there for food. The bonus on fuel and on gift cards is significant, and I periodically get vouchers for large numbers of bonus points (typically 2500 on £20 spend). Their scheme gives a £5 voucher for each 5000 points accrued.
The best option is to hold all the loyalty cards for all the shops you usually go to.
Aldi & Lidl are the cheapest supermarkets (by some way), with Asda next. None of them have loyalty schemes.0 -
I think that the M&S Sparks card is the best loyalty scheme for me.....
Partly because the choice of supermarket here is severely limited for me as a non-driver....it is Marks or Tescos.
However, the card is actually very good. You get given tailored offers, based often on items you have bought in the past...usually a discount of 10 or 20%. The offers change every few weeks (You get an email telling you what the offers are, initially you will be given something like 5 offers and choose the 3 you like best...the more you shop, the more offers become available)
Also, you get to select a charity from a short list, and they will benefit too with donations form M&S0
