On my situation. So I'm looking to buy a new-build property and will have a LTV of 30%. I went with a broker (London & Country) to advise me of the best lender to go with, and he came back with NatWest. He did a DIP but I've since found out that NatWest don't like lending to people on their probationary periods (I still have 2 months to go).
Instead, I will be getting a DIP with nationwide (I work for them) as they don't have any qualms about probationary periods. I have perfect credit history and perfect affordability, but I don't want to risk rejection with NatWest so I'm going with Nationwide to see if I pass their DIP. I'll let you all know what happens...

Are you certain Nationwide aren't concerned by probationary periods? We were asked precisely that question when we applied to Nationwide. Can't see why they would ask if they weren't concerned.Mortgage - £[STRIKE]68,000 may 2014[/STRIKE] 45,680.0

NatWest doesn't care much about probationary period as long as there's a six month unbroken employment history. From NatWest criteria;-
"Probation
There should be six months of continuous employment, although this doesn't need to be with the same employer."I am a mortgage broker. I'd be asking the broker to find out for you. My broker contacted lenders (including NatWest and Nationwide) to discuss my employment circumstances - a mess of different part time NHS contracts with different rates of pay - before putting in an application.0

What does the broker say, I get what you are doing but the MA will guide you0

Hi guys just commenting on what's been said above, we but a full application into natwest on Monday, and one of the main concerns I had going forward with Natwest was that my wife has only been employment 3.5 months before that was a housewife for 10 years and before that had a full time job for over 4 years.
I made sure when on the phone to natwest when applying for AIP they were ok with this otherwise I'd already had an AIP from Yorkshire BS and they were happy to accept only 3.5 months work.
So when it came to Monday and filling the full application again it was checked with the people that make the decision by phone inside the bank that 3 1/2 months would be accepted as long as we supplied a letter from her work placement to say she was fully employed, what she earns and hrs and that she had passed probationary period it would be fine. Hope that helps anybody with concerns about Natwest0 -
I'm currently applying with Nationwide at the moment and in my probationary period but they don't mind as long as you've been in the same field of work beforehand for 6 months.0
