pioneer plasma TV

Prior to going into shop today I thought I knew what I wanted a Sony lcd tv 40" w series. But........... was shown a Pioneer plasma PDP-4280xd, picture quality was fantastic and unlike other plasmas that I have seen there was hardly any glare/shadows/reflection on screen although they had it placed opposite window. The glare was an issue for me with plasma tv's as our TV is placed at the end of a room at right angle to a 15ft window.
Dilema now is are the pioneers worth the extra money? what are the main benefits? does anyone else have one and can comment on reflection etc. (have checked avforums but unable to find much info on this).
And most importantly whats the cheapest price anyone can find for one.
Thanks

It's an excellent telly and even better than the Panasonic I recommended in the other thread, but unsuprisingly, significantly more expensive. Dixons are selling it for £1500 and I'm pretty sure there are some codes around to bring the price down.
Is it worth the extra money? That's a hard one! My personal opinion is no. Buy the Panasonic and two years from now, you'll be able to buy a much better telly than the Pioneer for the same price as you're paying now for the Panny. Ok, but this method is more work and not environmentally friendly. If you can afford the Pioneer without denting your savings, then go for it!

You've now seen it for yourself.
The Pioneer Plasma's are simply fantastic!!
Every single review I've read of the 428xd / 4280xd - Says - it's just the best TV they have ever seen.0 -

Go for the Pioneer The picture is FAB you only have to see the Pani and the pioneer next to each other to see which is best, I have had mine for 18 months and my only reget is that we didnt get a bigger screen ( we got the 43) He He
Its not very money saving but its my only vice.0 -

magsite have 3 for £1 offers on this normally.
Samsung TVs are ok but not in same bracket as Pioneer/Panasonic. Am actually looking to get a 26" samsung at some point myself though.0
