Change of heart / New employment

Hi,
What are the legal implications of my choice now. I am about to finish my current employment on 13/01 and start a new employment on Monday 16th/01.
However my old employer has come back with an offer which I cant refuse and I have also signed the employment agreement to start with the new employer.
What if I change my heart at this late stage and don't want to go to the new employer. Are there any legal implications?

You contact the new employer & explain that due to unforeseen circumstances you are no longer able to accept the offer of employment from them.
I had to do this the day before I was due to start work in a new town due to a relationship break up.Dwy galon, un dyhead,

Have they fixed all the reasons you were leaving.
often these are shot lived and you are back wanting to leave again soon
What if they counter offer?
The reality is there is not a lot they can do, worst case is the contractual notice and if that is a week(notice today) they are unlikely to want you to work just the Monday 16th0 -
If the new employer insists that they have a binding contract just hand your notice in when you arrive. If your current employer values as highly as they seem to, they shouldn't have any problem with you being away for a week or so.0
