Good, its about time.
I realize this kind of work is outside of a Doctors normal NHS remit, but charging people for essential paperwork, that they need to get debt help, is just insane, especially were other factors such as mental health issues are involved.
Anyone in serious debt, wont be able to afford these fees, we see posts from people on the forum, in these situations, all the time, this should be a free service to all who need it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. How about a campaign for doing the same for the ludicrous charges doctors charge at NHS hospitals for signing the form you need to get a death certificate issued. When my mother died I had to get 2 doctors to sign the form and they charged me £450 for doing so. Why do they charge so much just for signing a form ?????? They're no better than professional criminals making ludicrous charges like this. There should be some sort of govt regulation on these charges.0
