i cant beleive it

i have been watching MSE for a couple of years now though i am quite thrifty (well i thought i was) i have just completed the budget planner and to my utter amazment i can save myself and family over £700 a month. i have loads of different insurances that are actually covered on my home insurance, we are down grading to 1 car which is feesable for us, not to mention better for the environment i am getting rid of separate digital and broadband packages and going for one with everything, i am getting rid of my mobile contract and going on PAYG as i only really use text messages and am paying £25 a month for them when i can get 300 everytime i put £10 on the phne and this will be plenty for me, the list goes on, i cant beleive it, i wished i had done it years ago. thank you MSE and everybody else on this site, if anyone has any other suggestions i would love to hear them. thank you

I know what you mean, this site has improved my quality of life no end. By using information on here, I have halved my weekly shop, and its enabled me to do things that I wouldn't ordinarily have been able to afford to do. I have taken my debts by the scruff of the neck and am currently getting them down. I reckon this site saves me roughly £70 a week, so thats £3,500 a year. And of course there is an abundance of help and support which is marvelous. Its a great cyber community!

I have been online for seven years and this site...is the best site I have ever had the pleasure to discover.

Not only do you make/save/regain money, there is a fantastic community spirit and the trolls are so well moderated that the disapear before they get a change to be disruptive.

Its fandiddlyabulous and a big thanks to Martin and all concerned.
  • Hi Nothernlass. my mobile contract is coming to an end in Dec 07 and I want to switch to PAYG (my handset is still ok so will keep it). What company do you get that deal on i.e 300 texts for £10?

    Many thanks
Second and final LBM 01/01/11 Nearly got there but fell of wagon. HAVE to do it this time
  • hy ya squirrel29,
i bought an Orange PAYG sim card for £1 which came with £1 credit so technically free so i can use it for the 2for1 cinema deal and even though i havnt topped up yet they have put 300 texts on for me for nothing, but everytime you top up by £10 you get 300 free texts and the £10 to spend as you wish, if you top up by £20 you get more and if you top up by £30 you get a thousand texts and you dont have to top up in one go you can put £10 on at a time as long as it is in 1 calendar month. it is a good deal and to be honest O2 do it as well but i wanted the 2 for 1 cinema deal so i can save more money. calls cost 15p a minute to any network so not that expensive to use either unless you talk a lot. hope this helps you
