New Comper! Tips and Tricks?

Hey guys! I am very new to comping and was just wondering if anyone had any sites that you only need to enter with an email account! I am only 16 years old, so don't really want to enter my address details ect. It would be much easier for me to enter competitions using just my email!

I am wanting to save up money so that I can get my scuba diving licence, but the course is quite expensive! I would love to possibly win a few prizes, or perhaps money, so that I could sell them for a slightly cheaper price! This should hopefully make it easier for me to be able to find it easier to pay to finally get my licence!

Thank you so much for reading! :D

Hi Liv, you should have posted this in Compers Chat Corner. I would suggest you look to Twitter comps as you only need to give details if you win :) Lots are posted on here and competition database is also handy for these. Good Luck BH xxx

    Welcome !
There's pretty much everything you need in the pinned post at the top of this board. (unfortunately, I'm new, so can't post links), Within that post, there's a good one specifically for new compers.
    Good luck :-)

I'd recommend social media based comps too which is lucky for you as there are more and more of them. Twitter is really easy to enter - normally just a retweet and follow. Facebook adds clutter to your feed and can be annoying for your friends, but some only require a like. I've been trying instagram too which seems very easy too.

    Good luck
  • The trouble is that the vast majority of comps, including twitter comps, have an age requirement of 18+ . If I were you, I'd stick to searching for kids comps. You may need to give your address, but I cannot see why that would be a problem.

Welcome to the forum, I would suggest reading the NEW COMPERS PLEASE READ - Competition Board - useful links

Also the competition board is for Competition posts only, posted in a certain way. End date / Prize / Way of entry.

Questions and chats should be posted within the MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Shopping & Freebies > Competitions Time > Compers Chat Corner (Please don't repost, as this will more than likely get moved to the correct forum)

You may find the search option useful.

I would suggest searching or looking for competitions that include the following in the title, for social media competitions.
(TW) (Twitter) (FB) (Facebook) (Pinterest) (INST) (Instagram)

Also (Email) may ask for your address but occasionally just the answer.

(GL) (Gleam) (RAFF) (Rafflecopter) you have to sign up to, but don't usually have to supply address unless you win and I've won a few of them, there is even a dedicated post to them.

You may also just want to search the relevant competitions, such as cash, voucher, money, giftcard, paypal, that way you can enter for cash only.

Baring in mind some competitions will ask for an address to send your prize. I've never received junk mail from joining a competition though and some sites, especially those with money sometimes just send a check direct without letting you know you have won.

Quite a few competitions require you to be 18. Although I won a TV from Heart Radio when I was 16, so might be worth looking into the radio competitions that usually require an address but sometimes only a phone number.

This forum is great as you can tick the competitions you have entered and cross off the ones you cannot enter (age restriction etc) that way you can keep track of what you have and cannot enter.

    Good Luck!

I'd also like to add that there is no guarantee in comping someone could enter 1000 competitions and win 200 of them, someone else could enter 100,000 and not win a single competition, so please don't rely on it as a form of income, there are other ways of raising money.
Thank you to everyone who posts competitions and good luck to everyone who enters.

I can't really think of any but have you thought of just entering comps on Facebook and Twitter ?

I cannot think of any either off the top of my head (although I am sure there must be lots. My suggestion would be to look for ones that are age 16 (or 18) or under only, as most of us will not be able to enter them, so you should stand more chance. Particularly if they require effort, such as submitting an essay or a poem.

Also, be on your guard that you check the terms and conditions to make sure you don't enter ones that are over 18 only.

Enter on reputable sites, such as magazines aimed at teenagers or shops that you know the name of. There should be less risk of them misusing your details that way.

    Good luck.

I would suggest the click2win competitions that only require an e-mail address to enter.

I would suggest the Click To Wins: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=69843461&postcount=2

Though I think they are 18+ you only need your e-mail address to enter.
