Food processor for pastry and nut/date mixes

I would like a food processor for pastry and making date/nut bars. I don't expect the pastry to come out like puff pastry, but if I could make decent multi-purpose pastry easily that would help. I eat a lot of date/nut bars, and would like to be able to make my own. Which I read is a matter of grinding the nuts and then processing in the dates, before chilling.
I don't need dough kneading as I have a Panasonic breadmaker, and I don't need a blending attachment as I have a good blender.
Is there anything reasonable that won't break the bank?
