Council Tax Reclaim Scotland

Hi,
Hoping someone can give me some advice, I've recently moved into a top floor 2 bedroom flat classed as a band E (bought for £114500 in December 16). The blocks on the site (there is 4) were built in 1997, all the two bed flats are Band E, one beds are Band D and 3 beds are Band F.
I have checked the Scottish Asessors website and I am the same band as my neighbours of flat of similar size and bedrooms. However, I do think this is in too high a band. I checked the Nationwide Property Valuation and it estimated in 1991 I should be a band C. However my block wasn't built in 1991.
Is this worth appealing with the council or should I leave it alone? I don't want to end up in band F! :rotfl: This is my first home so not really sure whether to rock the boat!
Thanks for your help.

Unless there was something wrong with the flat and/or you got it for a bargain price, £114,500 suggests property prices haven't even doubled since 1991. It would be interesting to know what these flats sold for when built in 1997.
Knowing nothing about how current Scottish property prices compare with those in 1991 I can't advise you on the accuracy of the band. It would be worth your while trying to find out if any of your neighbours have appealed. If they have, then you will know they were unsuccessful as the bands are all the same.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
