have looked on the index, just wanting a very very basic bread recipe, using flour (bread or plain?), marg/oliveoil, salt, sugar, milk or water
have had a sugary one, a salty one, a sunken one, a perfect one with a breadmix but defeats the purpose and am losing patience now LOL
anyone got just a simple recipe with measurements (in cups if poss) for a 2ib loaf? (using argos breadmaker, the cookworks one)

I haven't tried this one myself yet, but Delia is usually a very safe bet.

i have a kenwood breadmaker, but this recipe i found on a canadian website and i have not had a failure yet with it. i must admit i have adapted it over the past year:D
40mls veg oil
Dessert spoon of honey
half teaspoon salt
one cup hot water
3 cups bread flour (i use half strong white and half doves farm malthouse mixed grain)
half cup mixed seeds.
teaspoon and half easy dry yeast
add to breadmaker in order above and put on a general programme (not quick programme), mine takes 2 and three quarter hours from start to finish.
only problem i have is i cannot resist it;)Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.....0 -
I was only wondering earlier today if anyone would like me to share my standard bread recipe I make. Here you are:
To make 1 large loaf (by hand)
700 gr wholemeal flour
1 x 7gr sachet easyblend yeast (or 1 1/2 tsp)
2 tsp olive oil
1 tsp honey (my choice) or molasses or sugar
tsp salt
600 ml warm water
2 Tbsp sunflower seeds (optional)
- mix flour and yeast
-dissolve oil, honey, salt in the water
- make a well in the flour and add this and seeds (if using)
- mix well with fork
- turn out onto floured surface and knead till smooth ball
- place in warmed, oiled tin
- cover tin with damp teatowel
- leave in warmish place (eg airing cupboard) for 40 mins.
- Cook at 200 C for 40 minutes0 -
