NI contributions after pensionable age

My husband is 65 this year and will quality for his SP in July. He is currently retired, and living on his company pension. He has recently applied for a 2-year-fixed-contract job which is in the field of his own interest/hobby (lucky thing!) IF he were to get the job, would he have to pay NI contributions again. He will get a full SP because he has more than the required NI contributing years. Obviously he will pay tax, but we can't find info on the NI contributions. Thanks for any help.

No NI on pensions income or payable above state retirement age.

He could continue to contribute to a pension and get tax relief for another ten years, may well be worthwhile if the combination of company and state pension and wages push him into higher rate tax.

It's not that simple at present (due to the transitional rules of the new State Pension and the previous available option to 'contract out') - if he hasn't already got a Pension forecast it's worth checking what he can expect, although with an SPA in july there is limited opportunity to increase it if it is less that £155.65
