a relative of one of the oldies in my sheltered scheme has made a lovely xmas hamper for her nan with stuff from the pound shop.
It includes - hot water bottle and cover
easy grip jar opener
folding walking stick
glasses repair kit
one of those handy grabber thingies
insulated coffee mug
sausage dog draught excluder
cd/book of christmas carols
including the basket it has cost her £10 and more useful than the chocs or smellies that nan usually gets.:D0 -
Gift packs of cards, birthday, post cards with nice views, thank you and get well cards can be made up over the next few months put in a nice box with a book of postage stamps.Might sound boring but is a great help if getting out and about is a problem. Some of the best lessons we ever learn,we learn from our mistakes and failures.the error of the past is the success and wisdom of the future. :j0

Can I just make the point that very few older people around will remember Victorian songs (over 100 years ago!!) but year 6 children will be studying the Victorians at school and so would find it interesting - I am certainly off to my Poundland to see if I can get a copy for schoolTrue wealth lies in contentment - not cash.
